Room occupancy combination refers to the different ways in which individuals can book or reserve a room. It involves considering the number of occupants to be accommodated.

For example, let’s say you have three rooms (Room A, Room B, Room C and Room D) and with maximum occupants in a room as 2A+1C, 2A+1C/3A, 2A+2C/3A, 2A+2C/3A+1C, respectively. The room occupancy combinations could be as follows:

  1. Room A: 1A, 1A+1C,1A+2C,2A,2A+1C
  2. Room B: 1A, 1A+1C,1A+2C,2A,2A+1C, 3A
  3. Room C: 1A, 1A+1C,1A+2C,2A,2A+1C, 2A+2C 3A
  4. Room D: 1A, 1A+1C,1A+2C,2A,2A+1C, 2A+2C 3A, 3A+1C

…and so on. The combinations can be derived by permuting the individuals across the available rooms, considering different arrangements and empty rooms.

In the context of a hotel, room occupancy refers to the number of guests or occupants staying in a specific room. For example, if a hotel room has a maximum capacity of two people and there are two individuals staying in that room, then the room occupancy is considered full or complete.

The term “supersede condition” can have different interpretations depending on the context. However, one common meaning of “supersede condition” is when a new condition or offer replaces or overrides an existing one, rendering the previous condition ineffective.

In general, when we receive a supersede offer, it means that a newer or updated offers takes will be available and suppress the previous one. The superseding condition may be introduced due to changes in regulations, agreements, or any other factors that necessitate a modification or replacement of the existing condition.

For example, in legal contracts, a superseding condition may occur when an amendment is made to the original contract, altering certain terms and conditions. The amendment supersedes or replaces the previous provisions, and the parties involved are bound by the updated terms.

Such as changes in booking validity, minimum length of stay, travel validity or sometimes rates or discount.

“Base occupancy” typically refers to the minimum number of occupants in a room occupying existing bed.

In the hotel industry, a meal plan refers to a specific arrangement or package offered to guests that includes a predetermined set of meals or dining options during their stay.

Here are a few common types of meal plans in the hotel industry:

  1. Room Only: This meal plan includes only the accommodation, with no meals included.
  2. Bed and Breakfast (B&B): This meal plan includes accommodation and daily breakfast for guests. The breakfast is typically provided within the hotel’s restaurant or designated dining area, offering a selection of breakfast options.
  3. Half Board: With a half-board meal plan, guests receive accommodation, breakfast, and another meal, usually dinner. The dinner may be offered as a buffet or set menu, depending on the hotel’s facilities and dining options.
  4. Full Board: A full-board meal plan includes accommodation, breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Guests have access to all three meals during their stay, usually in the hotel’s restaurant(s) or designated dining areas.
  5. All-Inclusive: An all-inclusive meal plan is the most comprehensive option, covering accommodation, breakfast, lunch, dinner, and often snacks and beverages throughout the day. This plan provides guests with a wide range of dining options within the hotel, including buffet meals, à la carte dining, and sometimes even specialty restaurants.

It’s worth noting that different hotels may offer various meal plan options, and the specific inclusions and details of each plan can vary. Guests can choose the meal plan that suits their preferences and requirements when making their reservations.

A “meal upgrade offer” in the hotel industry refers to a promotion or option provided to guests that allows them to upgrade their existing meal plan to a higher level either on additional cost or on complimentary basis.
